Pop Culture Influences Me
As a consumer of popular culture, I have found that I cannot cut myself out from popular culture. I listen to pop songs every day and I go to watch movies once a month. Also, I use MSN, which is an on-line messenger, with my friends and family who are in Hong Kong every day. Without popular culture, I cannot imagine how boring my life will be.
The Reading I Read
The article I have read in class is “Barrier Between adults’ and Children’s Entertainment Is Breaking Down,” was written by Louise Kennedy. The article is about adults are going to be childlike; in the meantime, children are going to be adultness. Some people say it is a problem that adults will become less responsible because of having a childish mind and children will lose their childish mind. However, I suggest this situation is beneficial to both parents and children. For example, when I was a child, I really wanted my father would understand and even try to get close to my world. However, he did not do that because he was not interested in what I was doing, such as watching cartoons. As a result, we did not have too much conversation. The problem exists unavoidably, but I think parents and children should cooperate to work this out. The better way to reduce the gap between adults and children is to get close to each other’s world in order to understand each other.
One of My Favorite Singers
Mariah Carey is one of the most attractive singers. She is a very pretty lady with a fascinating face. Her face always hangs smile sweetly. Having tan skin, Carey radiates a healthy style with a sexy body. Everybody would be attracted by her touching voice if they listened to her songs. In today’s society, teenagers are listening to her songs. Carey presents her sexuality mildly; as a result, I like the way she does in concerts, activities, and MTV’s. Even though Carey has been a singer for almost 20 years, she is still popular enough for standing on the market.
Review of Miss Little Sunshine
A super weird family: a drug taking grandpa, a classical businessman Dad, a smoking Mom, an unspeaking brother, an innocent younger sister, and a guy uncle. You will have so much fun during watching this movie. This is a family and humor movie, and has been rated as R for language. The director, Jonathan Dayton, is not a very famous. Before the movie started to film, there was almost no one interesting in this movie script. It means that there was no sponsor to offer the money as the expenses of filming the movie. Once, one rich man was touched by the story and interested in it. Therefore, the movie could start to film. Finally, it has been nominated as the best movie of Academic Award of the year, and received the award. The grandpa (Alan Arkin) is a vulgarizing person who always talks about sex and says bad words. He unchains himself from traditional rules, doing things unexpectedly. Abigail Breslin acts the role as the daughter, Olive. She is the most innocent is this family, but she also has her own problem, which is that she wants to win the Miss Little Sunshine. Everybody seems to have their own problems in this family, and they do not want to be together but because there is a family relationship between them. There are six people in this weird family. Everybody has their own problem, and they all live in their own world. They seem that they hate and do not want to spend time with each other secretly. However, one day Olive receives a call for being informed to anticipate the competition of Miss Little Sunshine. Ironically, they do not have extra money to flight tickets for them going to California to attend the competition. They decide to drive their small old bus to the place where is far away from their city. Then the story goes on and interesting things will be happen. Although the story is not a warm story, the warm relationship of family shows that there is love between members. They are not perfect as a family member, but they all offer their love to Olive. They all have their own problems but still insist on carrying Olive to the competition. For example, mother cries for grandpa’s death. The brother, who never says a word so far, writes “go hug mum” on a piece of paper and shows to Olive. Since the beginning, he seems not care about everyone in this family. However, this plot shows that he actually cares about the family. Thus, I think this plot is the most touching part of the movie. Overall the movie, this is not a very exciting and special movie. However, there is a big problem, which is a common problem that exists in Americans’ family, is hidden behind the story. It enlightens audiences to think about the care of their family. It is a simple story but a big lesson.
I Can’t Live Without
Technology has been being developing since long time ago. Today, people all depend on it, and I am not an exception. I cannot imagine how my life will become without technology. I still remember that when I was in sixth-grade, I got my first cell-phone. Then now I own my laptop computer, I-pod, digital camera and car. In fact, cell-phone is the most important of what I have. Without cell phone, I feel uncomfortable and seem that I am out of contact with people. Actually, my cell phone is the only technology, by which can others contact me. Without technology, my life would become inconvenient, such as I cannot go too far without a car. Even though taking buses, trains, or any transportation are good choices, it still is inconvenient.

A popular TV show Finally, I wanted like to tell about a popular TV show named "Jenny Jones Show". The game is about helping single women to figure out who are their children’s fathers. All viewers are invited to watch young mothers peel off their self-respect. While I was watching this show, I saw the viewers were laughing in the show. However, I did not think it is funny. This is one of the most serious issues in The United States. Teenagers are having sex recklessly. They have sex without contraception or they may not even know how the contraception works. I felt sympathetic for single-parents’ children. The children have become victims unwillingly since their birth.

It is a crazy show. I cannot believe some women do not know who is their children’s fathers.
